Building with conscience - acting with responsibility

Sto is a globally active company. It is becoming increasingly clear to us that economic action and sustainability should be combined. We regard it as a duty, but also an opportunity, to shoulder our social responsibility and lay the foundations for lasting, long-term success by taking action that is responsible and conserves resources. On the one hand this takes into account the interests of investors, but on the other hand it equally considers those of employees and customers, our neighbours and our environment.

Examples of corporate social responsibility at Sto can be seen in three concrete fields of activity: the Sto Foundation, membership of Global Compact and, last but not least, in the Sto portfolio.

Education as a social obligation

Highly qualified employees are one of the keys to our economic success.

The non-profit Sto Foundation has been supporting promising new talent in their technical or academic studies since 2005 and focuses on continuous education and training for tradesmen and architects. The Foundation also promotes integration and is committed to equal opportunities.

For a fair globalisation.

Sto AG is a member of Global Compact. This agreement between companies and the UN aims to help drive globalisation forward with a greater emphasis on social and ecological factors. Members are seen as global role models and this position obligates them to act responsibly in order to become more ecologically conscious and coexist in harmony with the environment, as well as to counter discrimination in the job market. One of their key tasks is the development and distribution of environmentally-friendly technologies.

Another factor playing a part in future viability and sustainability is a product portfolio which makes an active contribution to climate protection.

We have been developing and distributing facade insulation systems for more than 50 years. The result: 400 million square metres of insulated facades and thus a saving of around 150 million tons in carbon dioxide. Conclusion: thermal insulation protects the climate.
